Hey Ass-Kickers!

In this episode I’m joined by Alexandra Jamieson, who is on a mission to start a happiness pandemic in the USA. How you ask? Alex aims to inspire women to fall in love with their bodies and play life by her own rules!

You may recognize Alex from her co-starring role in the massively popular 2004 documentary, Super Size Me. She’s here today to share her experiences and knowledge about the different types of cravings we get as women, and to educate us on why listening to our bodies is absolutely necessary.

Things you will learn in this episode:

  • How being vegan totally changed Alex’s health (and why she decided to eat meat again) (4 minutes, 40 seconds)
  • How she began learning to listen to her body (6:28)
  • Why do women have such a hard time figuring out food? (10:23)
  • How your cravings are information from your body (14:20)
  • Why emotional eating programs and nutrition programs cannot be separated (20:50)
  • What is the best way to change how you feel about your body and boost your metabolism? (26:10)
  • Why play is important – but we tend to deny ourselves of it! (27:20)

As you’ll hear, Alex came to realize that all cravings aren’t necessarily bad, and she made a major pivot in own her life around this philosophy. Sex, our relationships with ourselves and others, body shaming and fear; it’s all covered here in Episode 152 of The Your Kick-Ass Life Podcast!
